Y-Rings have been developed for use on large-diameter fittings to reduce assembly effort. Their non-symmetrical profile allows for a threefold reduction in assembly effort thanks to their lip-flexing operation. It is crucial that the seal is correctly oriented with respect to the pressure for optimal operation. The assembly is preferably performed in the bore.
